About the Event

The Centre for Study and Research (CSR India), New Delhi, organised an Advanced Level Research Workshop titled “Unlearn – Envision – Reframe – Rebuild” at the UGC Human Resource Development Centre, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, on 1–2 November 2025. The programme engaged researchers in rethinking academic methodologies and embracing new perspectives on knowledge creation.

Participants included master’s students, early-stage doctoral scholars, and young researchers from AMU, Delhi University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, and Darul Huda Islamic University — sixty participants in total. Over two days, sessions went beyond conventional frameworks to introduce non-Eurocentric viewpoints shaping contemporary scholarly practice.

Day One Sessions

  • Dr. Mohammed Rizwan (Director, CSR) — Opening: CSR’s commitment to inclusive and alternative research
  • Dr. Irfanullah Farooqui (IIM Kozhikode) — Dynamics of complexity and change in academic knowledge
  • Mr. Parvez Alam (AMU) — Methodological perspectives in social sciences; the value of unlearning established patterns
  • Prof. Berghout Abdelaziz (IIUM, Malaysia) — Reimagining knowledge structures from a civilisational and Tawhidic perspective
  • Dr. Tauseef Ahmad Parray (Higher Education Dept., J&K) — Key issues in contemporary Western scholarship on Islam
  • Dr. Irfan Waheed (Tasneefi Academy) — Integrating AI for scholarly work: writing, research, and idea management

Day Two Sessions

  • Dr. Zulqernain Haider (IIUM, Malaysia) — Combining Islamic studies and social sciences (virtual)
  • Dr. Waseem Naser (Post-Doctoral Fellow, CSR) — Foundations of economics within social sciences
  • Prof. Muhammad Mumtaz Ali (IIUM, Malaysia) — Reimagining research paradigms
  • Dr. Yusuf Amin (Vice-President, CSR) & Dr. Rizwan — Re-sacralising knowledge and methodological challenges
  • Dr. Irfanullah Farooqui — Reflections on scholarly thinking
  • Dr. Mohammed Rizwan — Publication and research dissemination

The event concluded with a closing address by Jb. S. Ameenul Hasan (Chairman, CSR), attended by Prof. Naseem.
